Client

Location

Mossley, England

Project Type

Residential

The Neild Street development in Mossley is a residential regeneration scheme designed to deliver much-needed affordable housing within an established community setting. Brought forward in partnership with Jigsaw Homes, the project proposed a high-quality apartment development on a vacant and underused brownfield site, helping to transform a former industrial area into a sustainable residential environment.

Strategic Approach

The development strategy focused on unlocking a constrained urban site while carefully responding to the surrounding residential character and local community concerns. The proposals involved the redevelopment of a vacant scrubland and former warehouse site, creating a sensitively designed apartment scheme tailored to the needs of older residents and affordable housing provision. Extensive planning and stakeholder engagement formed a key part of the process, alongside careful consideration of access, landscaping, and integration into the wider Mossley area

Results and Effect

The Neild Street scheme contributes towards the ongoing regeneration of Mossley by bringing a neglected brownfield site back into productive use and supporting local housing demand. In addition to delivering new affordable homes, the project secured wider public realm and infrastructure improvements through associated Section 106 contributions, including local transport enhancements. The development demonstrates a long-term investment in sustainable community growth while improving the appearance and functionality of the surrounding area.
